Excellent, home cooked food. Friendly service- waitress let us sample soup of the day before ordering (it was delicious). Excellent value - lunch special fried haddock for $10

I have been here many times. The service is always excellent. The clam strips were excellent when I went the other night (I got the fisherman's platter).

We stopped here on a motorcycle trip to Maine. The food was very good, and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff

If you want to go where the locals eat this is the place. Excellent food for a reasonable price. We stopped by because we were hungry and just happened to be driving through. The waitress informed us that they had been in business for over 60 years and it is still run by the same family.

Meals are hit and miss. Not as good as it used to be. Prices higher but food not as good. Hamburger not as juicy and pub club downsized. Fish and chips mediocre with not much flavor. Tried other sandwiches but nothing stands out. Service is friendly.

Had a wonderful lunch at this resturant. The food was very good, homemade, price was good and our waitress Amanda was excellent!

First I would like to note that this is really a 4 1/2 star restaurant. Our server gets 5 stars. She even got an extra tip because she was one of the best servers I have ever had. The food is fantastic. I had the Roast Pork loin. It was so tendar and juicy that I only needed my fork to cut the meat. The gravy was perfect as well. The mashed potatoes are home made and fresh. My meal was served Hot not room tempature like so many places. The quantity of food will allow you to have another meal the next day. Our meal came with the salad bar. It was clean, fresh and well stocked. The home made potatoe salad and cole slaw added to the quality of food. I will try to make it back before I go south.

We were really on our way to a new Lebanese restaurant around Wells River, it was Monday and that restaurant was closed! We had checked the Happy Hour, and looked at the menu before we realized the other restaurant was closed. So we went back and we were not disappointed. My husband had the ultimate comfort food, roasted chicken with a biscuit, mashed potatoes and gravy. He said it was the best, the biscuit he said was really good. His meal came with the salad bar, very fresh and a nice choice of items. The price extremely reasonable. I had a turkey club, very good except for the bacon which was mediocre, and not worth eating. French fries real good, onion rings good but not the best. I also had the salad bar. The restaurant is clean, Vermonty, and well attended...on a Monday in a little out of the way town it was getting pretty full with locals.

I have been going to this restaurant for the upwards of 25 years now. NEVER dissapointed delish meals and the soups are always great. For the price its the best place to go in town.

Went here for lunch with 10 people. We were able to pretty quickly get into a table. Service was very friendly and efficient, brought waters without asking. For 10 people with beers, we were able to get out of here with full bellies and only lighter by $16pp. I had the bacon and chicken wrap which was pretty good. Onion rings and fries are pretty good, salad bar was fresh. Had everything from club sandwhiches to burgers, to wraps, to salad. Everything was good. A little aggressive for dessert, but overall everything was great. We got some wierd looks walking in, but it seems like par for the course in this area if you are from out of town. Would go again and would recomend to others.

Wow! What luck. My son had a bathroom emergency around lunchtime and we stopped at the first place we saw, which was the Happy Hour. We didn't have high expectation, but the food was great, and so was the service. The fish and chips were good, as was the turkey club. My wife and I both started out with clam chowder that had a great flavor, though it was a touch heavy on potatoes and a touch light on clams. Still, a very good cup of soup.

I've gone to this restaurant all my life....so far. The Happy Hour is a local point of pride and tradition. The menu is still wonderful after all these years, the setting is rich with history, and the service is so wonderful. Some of the servers I remember from my youth 30+ years ago...true story!! I just love this place.

This restaurant has consistently good homestyle food and friendly service. People come here regularly from all over the area. They are known for great Wednesday night specials, and a generous Sunday dinner (at lunch time) which people come back to, year after year. I have found their lunches to be very good, quick, and reasonably priced. The salad bar is always fresh with a lot of variety. There is street parking, but on weekends and after 5 on weekdays you can park behind the bank just across the street.

Real home cooking in an old school country setting. I recommend the scallops and anything involving chicken. The locals love this place (which says volumes to me), so be prepared for a wait.

The Happy Hour has really good food with a "homemade" flavor. I don't think I've ever had anything there I did not like! The staff is always friendly, and everything is very clean. Lunches are great, with a reasonable price. Never dined there for dinner. If you don't know what to pick to eat, try the roast turkey...YUM! Portions are decently sized. Save room for dessert!
